Pest Control – Have a Safe Outdoor

The warm seasons are ideal for getting out and enjoying the weather. But if it was not for these mischievous flies, mosquitoes and other embarrassing insects, you might love your patio even more. While the weather is as widespread as the pests, you don't have to space the same. Read our list of tips to learn how to remove bugs from your patio. Follow pest control for a safe outdoor.

Tips to Build a Pest Free Courtyard

When you are outdoor, in such an expansive environment it may be difficult to control insects. Fortunately, you can do a few things to reduce the disturbance and anger they cause. Call pest exterminator when needed.

Things to try Immediately

A Clean Patio

Wipe any crumbs in your patio and wipe out the spilled liquids. The insects can be attracted by the smallest food bite or sticky substance.

Remodel Lighting

Replace your white bulbs by sodium or yellow bulbs. No more insects would be attracted to the orange or yellowish glow.

Herb Plantation

Bite insects can be prevented by rosemary and garlic. A small chive and citrus garden can also be planted to protect against other pests.

Spray Essential Oils

Sprinkle water and essential oil mix around your patio with lavender or eucalyptus to create a natural pest block. You can also help to avoid bugs by spraying it on.

Pest Deterrent Flowers

Planting flowers around your patio will help you combat mosquitoes and other pests that bite and sting. As additional protection, put a potted marigold container on your table.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Create a hydrogen peroxide and water spray blend to be used as an anti-pest spray. Spread the surface and perimeter of your patio and take care not to use the food or beverage mix.

Use an Insect Repellent

When outdoors, apply an insect repellent registered by the EPA. Ticks and mosquitoes carry disease and are potentially highly risky for health.

A full list of effective tick and mosquito repelling ingredients is provided by the CDC. Whether you apply it to your skin or clothes, it will lower your risk of being bitten while you enjoy the outside to create a protective barrier between you and mosquitoes and ticks that carry disease.

Remove Water Pooling

Only a tablespoon or more water is necessary for mosquitoes to breed. Pools, ponds, birdbaths and plants give a pleasant weather to the mosquitoes for breeding. They provide a perfect breeding ground for the laying of their eggs in female mosquitoes. Stagnant water should be treated or changed frequently in your yard so that you don't have an infestation, especially since you can pitch up to 100 eggs and hatch them in as little as 5 days. This also includes water dishes for your animals! This is important for pest extermination.

Lawn Trimming

Ticks and mosquitoes like to hang in cool, damp and shady plants. It does not just look good to take out overgrown vegetation and to keep a well managed lawn, but to remove tick and mosquito resting and dressing areas. Ticks might not be able to fly, but they tend to hang on high grasses waiting for a passer-by (animal or individual).

Carefully Notice Insect Stinging

Check for the hives and nests in your home and property. Flying insects can be difficult to treat as they can build up their nests in places that are difficult to reach, not to say sting! When the weather warms, the activity around your home and garden may increase. This is when employees gather food for larvae in the year. The wall voids of your house, or occupies the deserted rodent boroughs may be high in the trees, under your eaves or deck. Different species require various treatments and have specific challenges for themselves.
